When it comes to travelling, most people are looking for one of three different things:

Some are looking to increase their life experiences through exciting journeys full of discovery and adventure, others to learn more by experiencing different countries and learning about other cultures and ways of life. And finally those who are looking for peace and quiet, to de-stress from an arduous year, and to find a greater connection with oneself. This is what we call wellness travel. 

Wellness travel is based on meditation and getting back to who you are. Self-knowledge is one of the foundations of happiness and what better way to get to know yourself than to dedicate your holidays to yourself. There are different activities and ways to do wellness travel. Here are some of them:

A trip to nature

A trip to a place far away from the urbanized world will take you to the stillness of nature. You will find the perfect place to feel at peace and in harmony with the world. You will also be in a very different environment from the one you are used to, so the disconnection will be even greater. 

Yoga retreat

If you are looking for something deeper and more disciplined. A yoga retreat is ideal. There you will be helped by teachers who will give you tips and advice on how to achieve inner peace. You will also have the right facilities for total relaxation and harmony. 

Surfing or hiking

Another way to disconnect and get in touch with yourself is to do an activity in which you get in full contact with the natural environment. Surfing or mountaineering are ideal as the contact with the environment is total.

But aren’t these plans too expensive? This also depends on the activity you do, as it is normal that a yoga retreat in a luxury spa is not going to cost the same as a trip to the mountains. But the benefits you can find after such a holiday can be innumerable. Most importantly, you will find your true self.
